Biography

Dr. Karban immigrated to the United States from the former Soviet Union in the early 1990’s with her two children and a medical degree she earned before her 24th birthday. She settled with her family in the New York area and returned to medical school so that she could continue to practice in the area of medicine she is most passionate about, obstetrics and gynecology.

She graduated from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in Old Westbury, NY, in 1995 with the degree of Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine. After graduation, she completed her internship and residency requirements at the Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY where she continued to work as a Faculty Attending physician until her relocation to Houston in the summer of 2010. Dr. Karban is Board Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

With her children now adults, Dr. Karban, and her husband decided to look for a change of lifestyle and weather. Moving to the Cy-Fair area of Houston enables Dr. Karban to provide her experience in obstetrics in a growing and vibrant area of the United States and the opportunity to co-head her own practice along with her long-time friend and associate, Dr. Villalobos. Dr. Karban is fluent in her native Russian language.
